Avid "plug and play" VFD knob - what is it?

    Hey all,

just received and installed the AvidCNC 4HP router with plug and play VFD cabinet. Of course, inside the cabinet is an electronic VFD, and I notice there is a "knob" (potentiometer) that is not addressed in any of the documentation.

So the curious in me was wondering:

    1) What exactly is this for?
    2) Where should it be set?
    3) MOST IMPORTANT: Does it go to 10, or 11?

    Thanks.

Maybe contact the manuf, and get clarification.?
    Nothing on it labeled?
Could be the manual RPM button?

Most VFDs have a potentiometer on the front panel. Depending on the VFD settings, it either controls the spindle speed, or does nothing. Turn the spindle on, rotate the knob and see what happens.

Your setup will determine how the Pot works, in remote control (which most likely you are using) the Pot will not work on most VFD Drives, if you are using the VFD in manual mode (Keypad control) then there is a Parameter that you would set and then you can use the Pot to control the spindle speed.
