    VISTA - AutoCAD 2007

Got a new lap top with vista, went to load AutoCAD - its not happy - not compatible.

Looked at the AutoCAD site - seems the problem is being addresses, but not fix at the moment. Anybody have any ideas on a time frame?

Anybody had the same issues or problems?

Did you read through the support group? Guesses seemed to think 1-3 months for a patch.

    Found a few tips.

After installing, right click the launch icon and choose properties. On
the Compatibility tab set compatibility to WinXP SP2 and turn on 'Run
    as Administrator'.

Autocad and Vista with a Router

I have been using Autocad for 20 years now and never have been this dissapointed in both Microsoft and Autodesk for not being prepared for this.

I have had to cope with the combo at work and productivity has gone down for me. None the less, once you run the program with compatability mode to WinXP and run it with administrator setting, it runs with but only 5 or 6 crashes a day. . . :?

The speed of my new 'Vista' compatable computer makes up for that and now i really know how to use the Recover Drawing pallette.

If you are going thru a network... be ready to wait, and wait, and wait! Solution: once the waiting begins (you will know when that is by the way) just unplug the ethernet cable from your computer. Autocad wakes up immediately for me every time! Plug back in and let windows do its thing.

An update sure would have been handy considering all the $$$ they (Autodesk) make with having to upgrade every release or pay more $$$.

    Good luck.

    Angry Autocad Vista compatability

As far as I am able to discover the only version of Autocad thats compatable with Vista is 2008 - BUT - it's not compatable with Vista 64 bit - I know I've got the useless op system!

grizzly 98, I am using Inventor 2008 And Mechanical, with Vista x64 Ultimate. It likes it better than it did on xp 32 bit.
