When is spindle nose pressurization for on a spindle for wood

I am looking at a new to me spindle with ATC for my machine. It has an air connection labeled as "Spindle Nose Pressurization". My current ATC spindle does not have this connection. The spindle is coming off a wood routing machine. The only thing I can find when I google is that it's for keeping coolant out of the spindle nose bearings. But coolant isn't used on a wood machine. So what does this do on a wood cutting spindle?

It's not really pressurized, it is free flowing to keep the dust and chips out of the spindle bearings, this is very common for any type of CNC machine to have, quite often the air flow is also carrying a lube as well to lube the spindle Bearings, if it is a woodworking spindle then it would only have the air flow, this has to be dry air as well or the Bearings can be damaged if you have water in the compressed air

SO I would only need a few pounds of air at this connection. It requires 90 for the tool change, so I could add a reducer.

Just a pressure regulator and a solenoid air valve that would turn On / Off with the spindle may need a timer as well as the air normally flows after for around 30 seconds the spindle has stopped, they normally use 15 to 17 PSI

In woodworking machines I have seen, spindle pressurization was on all the time, even with AC power off. As long as the machine has air, the spindle is pressurized.

You would not want air running through the spindle all the time, this would be expensive, to run a compressor and air drier to serve no purpose
