    Stepper Driver dip settings 2/A 400 vs. 2/B 400

I have been searching online for 2 days on what the difference between 2/A and 2/B 400 step revolutions is with no luck. I get it that its half stepping mode but what's the difference between the two? what do the letters "A" and "B" mean? you can only set one or the other but not both so I was hoping to understand the difference so I can use the correct one.

I have an 8 wire stepper 200 rev 1.8 degree motor but I want to set my driver to run it in half step mode because of the Shirline lead screw TPI. The 8 wire stepper is wired as a 4 wire bipolar config. The A coils and B coils are wired in series. (center taps wired together).

Any help would be most appreciated.

The mystery continues... No one seems to know the answer to this question.

Might help if you gave the make and model number of the stepper drive. Without that info, nobody will be able to help you.
