I 've cut internal 60 degree and 45 degree internal splines using a Bridgeport Shaping Attatchment and a good quality rotary table before, but that's a simple angled tooth profile on the cutter. Also before getting a Fellows Gear Shaper.
The profile for a single gear tooth cutter would be a bit more difficult to gring up and create considering it's involute profile, point width, and pressure angle you needed. All will have to be calculated out well in advance for a good quality internal gear
It's simple with a Gear Shaper and what's called a Pencil Cutter.
thanks i gess i should have said what i wont to do with it is from a plantey gear set. for modle pay loder the $800.00 pre axle is a little much plus i get just as much fun out of bilding as i do driving. is this something i guy can do or is it really expive tooling. i have a 8" deviding head with all the plates now i wont it to work for me
We are doing some internal splines using their system on our C axis lathe. Been doing a great job.
