I see hardly any activity here or on other companies lately. There used to be dozens of posts daily, and now the last one here before today was 2 weeks ago. Is the forum dead or is there just no activity at Tormach?

I miss the forum activity as well, I think most of the activity is on facebook which I am not a large fan of.............

I still check in here every few days but there is definitely a LOT of activity in the various facebook groups. I tend to agree with Pops about those groups, not because I have a problem with them (typically there are more answers and faster response times than anything I've ever seen here) but the lack of search etiquette and defined conversation threads leads to the same questions being asked almost weekly in some cases which does get old.
There is also the new Tormach forums which, so far, isn't getting much traction. There are posts made somewhat regularly (more than here anyway) but they seem to be largely new people asking questions without any veterans around to answer them.
I don't usually have much to post about here other than to say, " My Tormach still works just fine, and its still not potty trained."

Log in is goofy now and I was tired of all the robo callers buying or harvesting information from this site.
Post one time here and get dozens of dumb ass robo calls from all over the world with dumb ass scams!
go a month without posting here and the number of dumb robo calls drops to one a week at most!
I decided to post just to see if anything has changed! lol,
Anyway im not looking forward to robo calls for the next few weeks that i will get from this one post here!
Im not a facebook user either!
I will use and post on Tormach forum and just browse topics here
yes i agree with you. i hardley found someone here.
receive sms.
How do I get Wechat verification? This is the query that pops up very often in search engines. What is this platform and why does it enjoy such great popularity? Let’s look into it, so that we don’t have to ask such questions anymore

hm, I doubt that these calls that tyou are getting have to do with the CNCzone. You don't even have a phone number in your member profile that could be accessed.
I understand that these calls are very annoying. But it will probably have other causes.
Or have other members here made similar experiences with unwanted calls after posting on CNCzone?

I've never had calls but I've found the ads excessive since industrial arena took over . This new bs just put it to a whole new level
its understood that there will be ads to fund the forums and the right ones can be handy for forum members . Paul had ads when he owned the forums but he didn't use the forum as a money making machine , the popup ads put it to another extreme , whats next pornhub popups ?
I highly doubt anyone is going to click on a forced popup ad and it's just an annoyance
Jesus... What's with all the adds all of a sudden????
+1 with jeffery001
I use adblock and never see ads here

I am not a frequent visitor, but I did notice that they now require a verification and cookies agreement when I log in. The verification form includes name, address, e-mail and phone #, so clearly they are collection information. -
here is the text-
"The protection of user data and the legal use of our portal are very important to us. We use your personal data always in accordance with applicable data protection law.
On 25 May 2018, the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becomes enforceable. The GDPR standardises data protection within Europe and places stricter requirements on our information and documentation obligations.
We therefore want to ensure that we comply with these increased data protection requirements and provide you with all the necessary information. For this reason, we have revised and adapted our privacy policy and the IndustryArena rules accordingly.
Please note that you are not able to login until you accept the Privacy Statement, the IndustryArena rules and the Disclaimer. The previous settings of your account will not be changed."
BTW- I found that if I login and when the cookies and information form pops up, I just close out and re-open and I am logged in without filling out any form or agreeing to cookies.
I still read the mail regularly and comment occasionally, but the new owner/operator is a pain. Adblock seems to work fine. As with others, I just won't deal with RedTwitFace; costs are too high. Don't really mind the re-registration; I feed these a junk account, and rarely if ever look at it beyond getting past the registration; nor do I answer any question about age, phone, location, etc with real data.
I use the Tapatalk app on my phone and it makes using forums so much better.
No logging in. No ads. Ever.
Pictures can be posted with a couple clicks. Frankly logging into forums via a PC anymore seems cumbersome.
The free version is bad but for $4.99 a year the paid app is well worth it. IMO of course. With respect to the Tormach section here I agree it’s been a lot slower.
I can’t say I’ve contributed anything much.
Still using my 2015 pcnc-1100 tho.
Just bought a spare set of upper and lower spindle bearings to have on hand. Couple months ago a job I ran was 5100 rpm for hours continuous and heavy cutting. Started making uh oh noise and the tool was so hot in the collet had to use a rag to not scald my hand to remove it. Jobs since then have been not as extreme and the noise and temps seems normal running so who knows. May have roasted the bearings or not but at least I’ll have a back up set ready if need be.
