Crash course in PathPilot and CNC milling

Hello! I am new to CNC and new to the forum.

I took some work with a small local shop setting up a PCNC440. I got the machine setup yesterday and watched some YouTube videos to get me this far. I am curious what is the best avenue to learn more functions of pathpilot?

What does someone with more experience recommend for someone like me who is just getting into this? I was going to start with the Autocad fusion personal option until I start to get proficient enough to be making money on my own.

I have a few programs they want to run and I understand the basics of tools offset, establishing xyz reference but im unsure how to tell the machine where the material is in the work area.

One of the programs the part shows up on the very edge of they axis and is outside the limit switches and won't run. How would I go about learning how to correct this? I see this as a big opportunity so I want to do the extra work to make it function. I appreciate the insight very much. Thank you! ????

    Welcome to the foum!

    https://hub.pathpilot.com/about

This will run on a windows based machine.

If the work envelope of the machine is larger than the part plus cutter diameter it should work.

I would recommend a course at your local community college. This would give you the basics

Tormach has a whole series of short videos on PathPilot. Catch them on Tormach.com or youtube.

Here is an older video but still very relevant. Some of the PathPilot interface has changed but the fundamentals are all there.

This one is a good starter video as well.
