    Bridgeport mill table screw movement

We have an oldish (1950s?) vertical mill. When manually moving the table left to right or right to left, the L.H. handle is permanently engaged. The R.H. handle is disengaged until you push, pull or rotate the part of the handle that you hold. It will then engage & move the table. Is it possible to change/adjust this R.H. handle so that it is permanently engaged? Having to hold the handle into engagement is awkward if you are also trying to look closely at the workpiece to make small adjustments.

That is a safety handle for the power . It can be replaced for a standard handle.

You can take the spring out and add a spacer on the other side, to engage it full time.
