    ID this ISO20 toolholder

Can anyone ID this style of ISO20 toolholder.

The tool is 1/8" secured by a set screw.

All I can find in my searching is a version that takes a collet.

    "Side lock" tool holder
    - this style is not suitable for high RPM cutting machines as they (by design) are out-of-balance

Personally... I would not run these above S8000 as vibrations are a major cause of bearing failure.

    a) where can one find a "side lock" ISO 20 holder?
    b) The spindle on this machine is 5000rpm max.

It's an ISO20. Can you be more precise? Like a URL to something similar to what is pictured. Thanks!

    Slow down....
Does your machine take ISO20 or SK20 ?
    Or even BT20 or CAT20
Does it have a tool changer ?

It is important to get the right holder form & pull studs
You may have some mention in the machine / spindle specifications.
If you manually change tools, then it may not matter, but sidelocks have tendered to fall from favour due to higher spindle speeds & balance needs of newer machines.

Collets (ER16, range 1-10mm) run truer than sidelocks & drill chucks

It takes ISO20. Which is why I said "Can anyone ID this style of ISO20 toolholder" rather than "can anyone ID this style of SK20".

What is pictured is one of the ISO20 toolholders from the machine.

    So it's an ISO20. It's not something else :-)

As I already mentioned the machine has a 5000rpm spindle.

In case it's not clear, I was asking if anyone knows of a supplier of this side-lock style ISO20. I'm aware of issues with varying pull studs but it doesn't change the question above.

Sorry, my question was a bit vague

If your machine does not have a toolchanger, and you manually change your tools.
Then... ISO20 holders may not be necessary, as long as the taper & drive slots match to the spindle drive, you would need to compare the parts/drawings.

I also am finding only ER holders, & shell endmill holders on the Web.
