Tool nose comp for Fanuc OT?

How do you set toolnose comp for a boring bar? In the Geometry page I use 3 under the "T" and use .0156 uner the "R" for an O.D. turning tool with G42 and G40 to cancel in the program. But what do you use for a I.D. tool?

use a G41 in the program instead of G42, and a 2 in the T

Hi I'm having comp problems myself. I haven't never used it on my fanuc OT and trying to go by the manual. Maybe I'm to small minded but I've been trying to get it to work properly for a week now and I've even contacted fanuc and they act like it should be working. You say you've been od turning using the direction 3 under "T" . So have I also under "R" .016. It seems like my machine is loosing position. May be I'm not putting My
G42 in correct place. Do you have a sample program I can see?
