    cnc lathe rough arcs

    I have a prototrak slx1630 that cuts great in x or z but not when working together like when cutting an arc, any ideas why.

    Check mechanical backlash in each axis, check axis belt tensions.
    Use round nose tool tip.

    I checked the backlash and reset its bang on, checked axis belt tension and the tool that always worked on my older lathe before this one is a ccgt polished tip with .4mm rad.
