    Question aluminum at room temperature

does any one know if a change in room temperature of +/- 10 F from about 72 F will be enough to make a measurable impact (around .005) on an aluminum part.

part is to be drilled on a fixture with bushings using a k-hole and a pin to center and position on said fixture.

i really dont think that temp is playing no considerable impact as to why holes are out of true position but im a new guy at work so my opinions dont carry that much weight so i was hoping some info regarding this .

so in other words a room temp variance of 70 to 85 degrees is not enough to cause more than .010 in a holes true position right?

It depends on how far apart the holes are. The farther apart, the greater the change, the closer together, the smaller the change.

The holes would have to be about 50 inchs apart. To get
    .010 change .
