??Worth Buying?? 1982 Kitamura Mycenter 4 CNC Mill

Heres The low-down On the Machine,

Its a 1982 Kitamura Mycenter 4 Mill With Fanuc 6m Controls...

In Great Condition exept the AC Spindle Board Is Fried, I have a local Guy who knows how to fix the Spindle Servo Board for a small price...

I Have a Chance to pick up the machine for $ 3K ...
Everything else on it is working, and in great condition, The machine is in prestine condition for its age..
    -Spindle Speed: 60-4000 RPM
    -Feed: Rapid 393.7 inch/min
    -Cutting 0-197 inch/min
    -ATC Tool Capacity: 20
    -Table Work Area: 20" X 45"
    -Travel: X - 36", Y - 20", Z - 22.5"

    So here Are my questions----
I run/own A 4x4/Metal Fab Shop That Specializes in Building Turn Key Rock Crawlers.. So Making Aluminum/Steel 3D Parts Would Be excellent... We Currently Have a CNC Plasma as far as cnc goes..And have a manual mill and lathe with LOTS of tooling.

I Know How to Use MasterCam X2, I have run CNC mills before, But have never owned one, And im looking to futher our capabilites..Not Too much production. Im looking to Get A Usable Machine to start out with, that im not going to have to drop 20k to get started with...And if I use it enough i will invest in a new machine..

-Is This Mill Worth it for the price? Repair is going to cost me ~$700???
-Is The Spindle speeds That the machine offers sufficient??? I dont remeber using over 4500 on the machines ive used..
-How Is Kitamura's Reputaion As far as the Mycenters go??? -I seems Hard to find INformation on the mycenter 4
-Who has a Mycenter? And What do you have to say about it?

As Far As I see its worth it for the price... And To start with...

    Thanks So much in advance,
    Cody

do it fix it .. if your not happy sell it on e-bay ,

    it's a japan built machine , from my 23 yrs in the trade , it's a buy ...

just be careful the tooling will cost as much as the machine

They are generally a nice little mill, but the tool changer on these could get touchy after several years of use and may need a tune up.
