    Mori Seiki sl1 threading question

    does the Mori Seiki SL1 support rigid tapping?

    No, I don't believe it does. I am pretty sure it uses an belt driven encoder to track the spindle speed and this in not accurate enough to use to be able to sync the spindle to the axis to allow for rigid tapping.

    much thanks, one other question about the SL1 , is it cabaple of thread turning? Looking at a used machine

    Yes, no problem.
    The SL1-a in our shop uses this syntax:
    G76P010055
    G76X-11.34Z-9.3R0P810Q300F1.337
