making pedestal bases? and lion paw feet?

    Hi Everyone,

I may have posted this question in the wrong area before.
I want to start making dining room tables and I was wondering if someone could provide me with a cnc machine ( name and or model) that will produce the Lion paw feet? is their a cnc lathe machine that produces table pedestal bases? I want the base to me 10" inches in diameter?

    regards,

    Ted

This is something that you can do with a band saw. cut out your pattern on some cardboard and place it on the stock- trace it and fallow the cut out line on the stock with your band saw- stop 3-4" away from the base (what ever size you want the claw feet to be) ~ then do the same procedure with the claw feet- you can carve the feet by hand- you just need the shape to begin with. As far a cnc machine? I am a turner and wood craftsman and this is how I would do it.

Any machine with a 4th axis could easily make claw feet. Unless you have very good 3D modeling skills, creating the model needed for g-code creation would be the hardest part.
