Hey all, long time no talk.

So, I have a question for discussion. I ended up with a CO2 laser that uses 220v. Turns out the tube won't light up or fire. According to my friends, they said, go get a new power supply.

I looked on Amazon, and saw that they had both 220v and 110v versions of the power supply for my 100w laser. The first thing I thought of was... You know, if I can eliminate this sketchy looking 110w to 220w step up converter that came with this thing, I'd be in business. AND it probably won't fry any of my power supplies... technically...

Anyways, it got me thinking about it. Everything else in the guts of it, looks like it peels 110v thru a transformer back down to DC... meaning, Its probably very possible to do this. I just can't find anyone that's actually done it. Any thoughts or things to discuss.. any interest in trying to figure some of this out? I'd love to put together a tutorial or something on it.
