This is a Mitsubishi control tailored as Mazatrol, is there text with the alarm, maybe post a photo of the screen?

The only 251 errors I can find state either a lathe spindle is blocked due to chuck open signal or milling spindle tool not clamped signals missing.

251 is a PLC Alarm

Does your mill have a B axis?

251 MILLING MOTOR ROTATION PROHIB

A milling spindle rotation command was given even though the milling tool was not clamped.

A milling spindle rotation command was given with the door not closed when the door interlock switch was set to AUTO. [When the door interlock option is provided.]

So just 2 things here to check is that the Tool is getting the clamped signal.

The Door interlock is working or bypassed.

Definitely a plc fault.
Check chuck clamp limit and pressure switches.

Yeah it's a mill not a lathe sorry, there was parameters missing but we got them back then this error popped up

In that case, check tool clamp unclamp signals. If the plc input signals are incorrect the spindle won't be released to run
