    MV40 Y axis servo removal

Would anyone know the removal procedure for the Y axis servo motor for a MV40B? Its looking like I need to remove the motor to replace the encoder wheel possibly and do not have the service manual. Thanks Matt

In general, the motor will likely be right under the front way cover. There will be a connector that connects the motor shaft to the ballscrew. Maybe under a cover. The motor will come off with 4 bolts after you disconnect the encoder and motor power connection.

If you have great access to the end of the motor, it might be possible to replace the Encoder without removing the motor. I've never removed one so am not sure.

You might want to share what problems you're having that makes you think it's time for a new encoder. Someone here might lead you to an easier or more meaningful course of action. You never know...
