HELP WITH WIRING PROXIMITY SENSORS AS HOMING AND LIMIT SENSOR

Mach3, SmoothStepper ESS, C25 BOB, Gecko 540 driver, 2021 screenset

Proximity Sensor: type LJ12A3-4-Z/AX. NPN NC 6-36V
    Resistor: 330 ohms 2%
    V Diode: 0.5W 4.7V
    DC Transformer 12VDC

The C25 BOB requires a voltage 5V or less to operate normally.

I am attempting to add proximity sensors to me homing and limits.

My problem is that I have been unable to get agreement on the wiring for the proximity circuit.

There are three connections on the Proximity itself. Black being the output to the Input of the BOB, Brown connecting to the +Voltage and Blue to GND. This is what I have found on the internet.

Here is the circuit drawing that I have, it or the components must be in error because I measure only 0.6V
When it is near metal or not. The LED cycles on and off as expected when near metal. See circuit for measurements taken at various places.

Please let me know where I am in error.
    Thanks
    Hager

Judging by the symptoms, you have connected the Zener diode backwards.

T hanks so much for all your help, but for now I’m giving up on Proximity Sensors. Get some projects I’ve got to get done.

I have installed micro switches in the X, Y, and Z home.

Again thanks. And before I attempt to go the Proxcimity route again I have full understanding of the wiring configuration I need.

Try the proximity sensors again when you have a chance. They are really awesome devices, you will love them.

The schematic in your first post is correct. It should work if all the components are working and wired correctly.
