I have closed loop steppers. The z axis i want to reverse. The "page up" button moves it down and "page down" button moves it up. In mach3 homing limits, clicking the reverse direction setting does nothing. The motor driver dies have a reverse direction dip switch option, but its enclosed in a pc case. I'd rather change direction in software.

Try changing direction pin from 'active low' to 'active high' (or vice versa) on axis page. Check controller direction pin output is changing from 0v and 5v using a multimeter when a setting is changed.
