I am trying to run a program on an old lathe, problem is when I run through the program on single block, ding everything step by step, I'm getting "alarm B plus var. limit over axis 2". I am new to machining and am unsure about how to diagnose this problem. If anyone knows the steps to take in this instance and could help me that'd be much appreciated.

Your SYSTEM and USER parameters are completely wrong.
You must set X/Z origin first and then must set stroke limits.

Hi, I have the same machine, usually when I get that error it's because of the Z axis zero parameter. So for instance, if the part you are trying to machine, is larger than your Z Zero parameter, you would get that error.

To fix it, move your turret with the No. 1 tool on to the edge of the material you are going to work on, then go to Zero Set, set your cursor on the Z column, and hit Calculate. DO NOT HIT SET OR DEFINE (I don't know how it would say on your machine, just never hit the first option)

Try that, it should solve your issue
