I have a customer who has an old Mori MV-40e which uses a variant of the Fanuc 21-m. Any axis connected to the Servo 3(Z Axis) port on the A16B-2201-0721 card results in the DRO changing when jogging or running G-Code but no movement. I would have expected a following alarm or some other type of alarm but I am not. The machine seems perfectly happy with what it is seeing. I recommended replacing the A16B-2201-0721 but would like to see what you guys thought before doing so. I'm not a huge fan of just firing the parts cannon.

I have confirmed the issue is not with the Servo Drive by swapping the connections with the Servo 2 port and the Z-Axis works fine.

I have not, can you provide a little more info G108.2 are you talking about in the ladder?

I did try replacing the A20B-2901-0700 (Servo interface module) and A20B–2901–0340 (Servo control module). It had no effect.

So the final solution ended being the Z was disabled.
The Machine a Mori MV-40E doesn’t have hardware disable switches on the panel so the Z is on a custom screen. The customer swore he didn’t touch it and didn’t even know it existed.

The feature allows the machine to not send servo commands but allow the dro to update. The value of PRM Status G108 shows what axis is disabled. 1=Disabled.
