Another day another acramatic question

I wonder if its possible to retrofit a 4th axis to a a2100 from 2000.

Its a machine with profibus and siemens electronics.

Machine specs. States 4th was not as option
But can it still be activated by user?

Anyone done such a project and could help?

I have a old jones &shipman unit.
Today with sem and heidenhain encoder but ofcourse they would be swapped.

Anttoni, 4th Axis for A2100 Arrow Series-2 Model EKK with Siemens 611 drives AND Profibus.
See EKK Attachments for Rotary Axis. There is a lot more Time & Money than you would imagine....
William.Oehler @ fivesgroup may help you purchase options; the MAI code generation is the toughest....

But it seems to be a bigger task then compared to
A retrofit we made on my heidenhain machine.

I am although curious how much that option is.

A new axis must be enabled in the SIK code of the iTNC control. This is no longer available from Heidenhain. I can help with the final authorization of the axis option. [email protected]

I was careless, only the encoder is Heidenhain, not the controller...
