    Updating PlanetCNC Software on MacOS

Hi. I have planetcnc software for Mac running fairly smoothly. It is version 2023.06.20.

I am having some issues with probing scripts (I’ll post specific question in separate thread), so I tried to update using Help/Check for Updates and got “Unable to check for updates!” Dialog box.

    Is this normal ??

I went to web site and downloaded version 2023.10.12.

I’m able to deal with funny MacOSx permissions issue (using terminal commands as described in install instructions).

But when run, It gives me an error dialog “There is a problem accessing settings file”, even if I copy entire Profile folder from old installation to new installation.

Is there a specific process for upgrading the software ??

    Thx for any help.

    Best
    Jake

Re: Updating PlanetCNC Software on MacOS

Tickling thread to see if maybe PlanetCNC can answer. New software seems to work fine after I hit OK on “there is a problem accessing settings file” dialogue. I can save new settings and they are “remembered” across program start/close cycles.

Check for updates still does not seem to work.
    Thx

Hi. Thx for response. Tried approach of attempting “check for updates” multiple times after waiting a few minutes after starting program. Still got error message. Also still get error regarding issue with accessing settings file on program start (even though settings load just fine).
    Thx for any help.
