    Problems after firmware update.

    Hello.

Just updated the firmware on my Mk3 plasma table, also installed software on new pc and imported all the settings from the old one I was using. Now I am having a few problems:

Limit switches and emergency switch is not triggering a "stop" or a emergency stop. I can see the inputs are triggered in the program but nothing is happening.

If I start from line in a g code it sends the Z axis through the "roof", it just continues going up even though the g code does not say the z axis should go up.

When jogging the entire machine is stuttering, the machine is not going fluid like it should. I can run programs with cutting and the motion is like normal here.

    Limit switche issue:
    https://cnc.zone/kb/tutorials/basic/...limit_switches

Can you post the gcode script file of the OnStart file? Located in the Scripts folder of your profile.

Can you post specs of your current PC?

The stuttering is due to bad USB connection of controller with the sw.:
We recommend that you connect controller to computer USB port via USB HUB device. Note that controller should be the only USB device connected on this HUB.

For best performance of PlanetCNC TNG software, PC with 4 virtual processors(cores) CPU is recommended. However, PC’s with 2 virtual processors will do just fine. Various services running in the background, antivirus software and program updates can interfere with PlanetCNC TNG performance and that is why dedicated computer is recommended.
We recommend that you connect controller to computer USB port via USB HUB device. Note that controller should be the only USB device connected on this HUB. Alternatively use USB cable with active repeater.

You see, all devices connected to the same HUB device share available bandwidth. Because data traffic is prioritized by the OS, it would not be uncommon if another device connected to same HUB would interfere with controller and therefore compromise the communication between controller and PC.You can check which devices are connected to your PC USB ports with “UsbTreeView” software. You can get it here:UsbTreeView

Make sure that no other application is "stealing" bandwidth. I would recommend that you also close all nonessential applications.

    Re: Problems after firmware update.

The limit switches are working, they are triggered and I can see that the signal is received in the software. But they are not working/stopping the machine.

Emergency stop signal is also being triggered in software but is not working.

    I have a MSI GE76 Raider with 64gb ram, 3080rtx videocard etc.

    On start script:

    (print,OnStart script @ Line: #<line,0>)

The table is being controlled via ethernet.

Everything worked before the firmware and software update.

Is the table connected directly to the laptop or through some Ethernet switch (like internal company network)?

Through ethernet. This has worked flawless for years until now.

Anything on the start from line problem?

I have now tried swapping X and Z axis in the software. Now it is moving the (X) axis like it would with the Z axis. So the error must lie in the software somewhere.

I have tried editing G28 and G30 to Z15. Start from line now sends Z to 15, resumes program and sends the Z up to failure.

Also tried editing move to line to a firm Z15 still does not help. I can not see any reason for the Z axis to be moving like it does.

I have sent you profile on email.

The Gcode program does not matter, it happens on all of them.

Not sure what this could be, I booted up my old computer with old software etc, updated that aswell and same problem. So this must be something software related.

This gcode is wrong. It does not mesure Z offset correctly.

    It does and it works.

That code has worked like it should for 2 years. These problems occured after the last firmware/software update.

Do you have a archive with older firmwares and software we can download?

No, it does not and it never did. Perhaps by chance.
Can you explain lines around N0017 then?

Yes it did work. It has worked for 2 years, I have cut several tonnes of steel with this code. I have thousands of Gcodes running with this exact code.

I have now done a test and removed it and yes the problem is gone. But this only occured after software and hardware update. So I don't know what you have changed but this is not the first time I've had to change codes etc after updates. That's why I havn't done any updates for years, but moving to a new PC I had to.

This problem might now have been fixed, I do need a new code for measuring z offset since this one doesn't work anymore.

However this does not explain why my limit switches on y/x axis and emergency stop buttons do not stop the machine even though I can see them light up in the software.

That gcode is complete nonsense. If it worked it was due to pure coincidence.

I see zou dont understand it but you want to argue with me. Im here to help bur if you dont want it suit yourself.

I am not arguing? I just said that the Z measure code does not work anymore. It has however worked since 01.05.21 when I last updated the software/hardware.

But as I am trying to say, this does not explain why my limit switches is not stopping the machine nor the emergency stop. Even though they are triggered in the software. I have not changed anything here either since the firmware/software update.

    Doesn't work.

Emergency stop, limit switches x y and z. Fallof switch for Z. Neither does work, but I can see the buttons are triggered in the software.
