Anyone repaired a cnc linear motor? Dealing with a machine that the magnets have de-bonded due a loss of cooling oil on one axis. The other two axis's are fine and stable. We have dealt with magnet debonding in other applications. And the machine manufacturer has repaired the same failure on a different axis in the past. The machine powers up, other 2 axis's are stable, damaged axis is erratic, obviously. There appears to be no magnet damage, just debonding & mis-alignment (as magnets do). Like to determine if there is additional coil/armature damage from the coolant loss/debonding. Can we temporally align/re-bond the magnets (superglue, quickset epoxy) for (low speed/acceleration) inspection? Do linear motors/encoders on cnc machines have a similar tuning process as rotary? Anyone have experience with this specific repair, or seen it done before?
