I have a diy arduino based CNC router. It runs GRBL and I send GCode with UGS. Works great. I want to get into cutting foam decking for boats and am hoping some of you may suggest a way to digitize patterns using my set up. Do I need additional software to do this? Hardware?
What would you suggest?

UGS has an option to probe a height map and export the data to a file. It is not fast but it runs unattended.

Looking more for 2D. Like mapping out boat floor mats.
Still where is there any documentation on the auto leveler in ugs?

There is very little to find even YouTube and Google show only one video. So you have to find out your self how it is working.
The result is a map of X,Y,Z points. That is a 3D mapping.
