    Bit Naming On Star CNC's

I'd like to be able to add comments to the PMC. Most importantly to the A addresses to make the alarms I've created actually tell operators about the status

I've seen videos of people doing this on other fanuc machines But I cant find anything on any of Star's lineup. I Don't have access to any computer editing software But I've been able to make everything work from the MDI panel. I just need comments. Is anyone familiar with this process?

I'm guessing the reason the edit button is missing from the symbol screen is because the PMC is running(?) When editing, I have just flipped K17.1 and K18.1 to 1, enabling Ladder editing. Which can seemingly be done just fine with the pmc running

There are keep relays named "Programmer enable", "Edit enable", and "Allow PMC stop". However flipping any of them is useless as they all automatically go back to 0 after a short moment

Is there another keep relay that I'm missing or is it a parameter or Data table thing?

Thanks for anything! I find it odd that it's easier for me to alter machine functions than to name them

Try it in emergency mode state or go in PMC menu and stop the PMC

ESP hasn't made a difference for me. I can post an image tomorrow of what I've assumed is the PMC menu, in case i'm looking in the wrong place. My guess, however. Is the problem with that screen is the "stop" button might be invisible. Just as the "edit" button is before i turn on K17.1 and K18.1.

Alright I'm one step closer to clarity. I found this rung detailing that F1.7 (Machine ready) needs to be off in order to allow PMC stop. I'd think there would be a Parameter regarding this strobe. Anyone with a clue?

    Edit:
The K900 Keep relays to the right are non-changeable

Resolved. I simply added a keep relay to bypass F1.7 in this rung

Now I have access to everything
