Scraping a cube how to indicate surface flatness and parallelism in 3 planes?

    Hello,

Scraping a cube how to indicate surface flatness and parallelism in 3 planes?

    Cube size 45x45x20mm
    Precision needed 0.01mm

    I have surface plate 15x15cm
Dial indicator Mitutoyo 513-401 dial test indicator.

What other tools do I need for this ? How to setups for this to work?

    Hi,
I suspect you'll need a precision granite square.

You can use a surface plate and indicator to get two surfaces parallel to each other, but you'll need a reference square to get a surface square to your pair of parallel faces.
I bought a small square from Precision Granite in California, 6" x 6" x 4.5" AA. Its good.........I wish I could afford a much bigger master square....but I had to settle with this one.
