    Measure Height.

Is it possible to make the measure height process go faster?

I have Z safe height set to 15, and whenever it probes it returns to 15 before continuing with the program. I would like it to go directly to the next line ie Z 3.8.

The extra Z 0-15 and back down 15 -3.8 takes a lot of time. And when you do this on 1000 parts the time adds up very quickly.

Hi Mremo - Then change the safe ht to 1mm if that is "safe" enough... Peter

If that would be under "Probe & measure" then that does not work.

"Measure Height" command is used to measure work offset. After measurement machine goes to height it was before measuring.
This is usually done before you start program so I'm not really sure what are you referring to.

With plasma cutting you do this very often to make sure it is the correct height when piercing. A plate can be crooked, it can be a little bit bent, there can be dross under the plate which makes it uneven. Therefore you use the measure height(floating head) very often with plasma cutting.

Since I had to scrap my floating head script I have now had to use the measure height included with the software. But it takes to much time. Is it possible to change this script somehow?

I now know that you are using floating head for plasma cutting but not much more. You need to give more information if you want good response.

Return distance is set to 1mm. It still goes to z15 before continuing with the program.

Do I need to add something to the macro? I used a postprocessor you helped some other guy with.
