Well, if it is REALLY " "Tinned Copper Wire", then its normal copper wire with a layer of what is similar to solder (tin) applied on top of the copper. But in my opinion, some unscrupulous vendors try to pass off aluminum wire as tinned copper. :strange:


Be careful who you buy from!!!


Another product to watch out for is so called "CCA", which is aluminum covered with a thin layer of copper. Lots of Cat 5 / Cat 6 Ethernet cable is manufactured with CCA, and some vendors do their best to either not disclose that its CCA, or bury the disclosure in the fine print.
