Can the 20hp motor be run off a rotary phase converter?

Hi,
yes, you can but the cost will be huge. Entirely probably you'd have to install a high current single phase supply just to run the phase converter.....might be cheaper
just to get three phase installed from the outset.

Phase Perfect is a well respected US brand, far from the cheapest I would expect, but it sort of tells you what you're up against.

A 230V 20hp model about $6000 and a 460V 20hp model nearly $7000 and both require 111A 230V input.
