    SCM Morbidelli Author 430

    Hello,

I am a designer and I make custom furniture.

As part of my professional activity I have the opportunity to buy a Morbidelli Author 430 for about €3k.

The CNC is in working order, I wonder if it is a machine that is still usable at present or completely obsolete?

    It works under Xilog Plus.

I don't have a CNC, but I use 3D printing, modeling under Fusion 360, SketchUp... I also have a "CNC" Shaper Origin that I use occasionally.

Do you think this is a good opportunity or a bad investment in view of the age of the machine?

Sorry for my English and thank you in advance for your answers...

Is there no one to give me their opinion?

It's not a new machine (I think it dates from around 2004), but still very useful! If you buy it, please clone the disk as soon as possible for security reasons.
Back to the topic - Windows XP allows you to connect to the outside world. You can share a folder to exchange programs from your desk and share DXF files to import and cut from boards.
In my opinion, it's not outdated at all. Many operations can be performed very easily, in a more elegant form than in much more sophisticated software such as Xilog Maestro.

The tool magazine will also be useful for many operations!

For drilling or milling 2D curves it is very easy to use! Recommend.
