I've had the combination drive repaired 2 times prior to this for the same problem.

I turned this machine back on yesterday after not using it for about a year. It looks like the 449 alarm is back again (this time on the Y Axis). The back of the combo drive shows "9."

I managed to get it powered up once without an alarm, home the X and Z axis, but when I tried to home the Y axis the alarm came back (438 Abnormal current, combo drive shows "C").

Any theories why this keeps happening? This machine barely gets used. I Megged all 3 axis motors + harness and they're all over 1000M?. Supply voltage is good (217v no big variance between phases).

Are you sure that the axis is running free?
If the motor needs too much torque/current, the IPM module can also trigger the alarm.
Otherwise I would try to replace the amplifier with a good one for testing
