    Is this machine rigid enough?

    Hey,

I'm looking for my first lathe, and someone offered an Emco 120P in decent condition.
Does anyone know if Emco 120P is able to turn 303 stainless steel, 20mm diameter? The speed of how fast it is able to turn 303ss it not a concern, since I will use it as prototyping.

According to this link, it is about 330lb(150kg). Has 3.8/5.5hp main drive on the spindle with max speed 5000rpm, and max feed force in X/Z axis of 440lbs. Rapid traverse of 80IPM. Is it rigid enough to maintain rated tolerance, or will it vibrate too much?:

?Does anyone know what grade of ballscrews these machines has?

    Best regards

    Cafke
