Can anyone help me properly program a chamfer cutter with the Mazatrol M Plus unit? I can't seem to get away from the "chamfer cutter interference" error and also "Illegal tool for tool length measure" when trying to get a tool length measure from the automatic tool length measure feature.

Error #1 is due to not having a large enough number in the radial and axial interference distances in your program. Error#2 is due to trying to measure a Chamfer Mill in Auto Measure Mode. Use Tool Measure Manual to due this. If you need more info let me know. Also be sure the Chamfer Mill is properly described in The Tool File or you will never cut a proper chamfer.

Hi,
I too am having trouble cutting any chamfers using the M Plus, I used the M32 before with no problem.

I have got the tool defined as having minor diameter 0 nominal 6mm and cutter angle 90.

The program is trying to cut a 1mm chamfer on the top corner of the job.
I have got the Z as 0 Z interference as 3(but have tried loads bigger and smaller) R interference as 3(again tried bigger and smaller) I cannot get rid of the "Chamfer Cutter Interference" 707 alarm.
I have also tried putting .5mm as minor diameter but no joy.
can anyone help?

Silly mistake.
Changed cutter angle to 45 and all works ok
