    Buildyourcnc.com stepper motors

I'm looking to build the router off the website buildyourcnc.com, and am trying to work out what stepper motors i will need. The longest axis will travel 1m, and i am going to use the hobbycnc board and modify an atx power supply. I do not know anything about stepper motors and was wondering if some could help me find a cheap solution, i am in the UK so pref a UK company or ebay UK.

I've had a little look around and was wondering if any of these would be suitable.

    David,
    I used these-
FL57STH76-2808B - about 260 oz/in on my machine http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35019 I now have drivers and power supply from motion control products as well, I'm sure they will work but I did find mine were on the limit with a 24v supply.

Are these motors unipolar, as i know they have to be with the hobbycnc controller. Is the Other motor better better as it has 3Nm. I know you usually get what you pay for.

    Thanks

I'm sure the larger motor will be better but you may not get the full advantage without increasing the size of power supply, as far as i understand the motors can be wired unipolar if they have more than 4 wires, but I've only wired bipolar with the drivers I have used. I now use the MSD542 drivers.

    Both spec sheets http://www.motioncontrolproducts.co....TH76-2808B.pdf
and http://www.motioncontrolproducts.co..../FL60STH86.pdf give specs for unipolar and bipolar. Wiring unipolar gives a slight reduction in holding torque
