    SOFT OVERTRAVEL

I need some help please. My lathe with a Fanuc 10TF control won't reference in X. I get a +X overtravel(SOFT) error message when I try to reference it. It started this after I powered it down and then back up after the monitor went blank. I am having monitor problems also. I found some info on bypassing this and tried it but it did not work. It said to hold P and Cancel buttons down while powering up and you can bypass the soft overtravel then reference machine and it will be ok. Is there another way.
    TIA

IIRC you have to get into the IPL screen, buttons 7 & 9 and power up.
one of the menu lines says 'ignore soft limit until homed' or words to that effect.
    select ignore and exit.
It's been a while so I am going from memory, I don't have my notes here.

    Al,
I did a search here for IPL and this past thread came up:

I am confused now. If I push button 7 and 9 will the parameters and everything be erased. I don't have them backed up yet.
    Thanks,
    Keith
