I had to replace the spindle bearings on my Hitachi 20 HT but now I have axia and radial play on the chuck, that I know is the bearings are not adjusted correctly, can somebody tell me how I most adjust the bearings...? thanks a lot for your help...!!!!

javierr, Specify the bearings in question then maybe we can help. Angular contact? identifying numbers etc.? Tapered rollers? numbers etc.? Maybe NC Cams will join in and help you.

the spindle bearings that I already change are NSK 7018 C ball berings angular contact, are mounted 3 on the chuck side and 2 on the cylinder side, thanks a lot for any help, tip or counsel... regards

javierr, Angular contact spindle bearings require preload to stabilize them both in radial and axial position. Usually the assembly requires that the outer race and the inner race of opposing bearings are separated by EXACTLY the same distance. If not, the longer separation will not permit the other race to be properly loaded. This results in the spindle moving as you described.

Are the above spindle bearings the exact replacement of what was original to the machine in question? (same brand etc. as specified by the original machine builder)
