I was impressed with the touchoff demonstration video on You-Tube which used a piece of circuit board (top side conductive) and a Mach 3 macro to zero an installed tool to the top of the workpiece. I poured over my Mach 2 pdf manual, but can't find the feature. I have the same button on my screen, but is this for something else, or am I missing something?
In the video, the operator simply clicked the mouse on a screen button marked "auto tool zero" and when the tool slowly came down it stopped dead at the surface, put 0.0000 on the DRO, then backed up to a safe Z height. Evidently it also adjusted the DRO for the thickness of the circuit board. Can I get this feature in Mach 2?
