Is there anyway to get rid of that outdated "floppy" and install a
CD Rom, on the controller? I have had to downsize my company, to
be competitive. We are in the prototype[old style] plastic inj.
molding business, with older "turn handle" toolroom equipment + one
knee mill with a Centroid M-400.
When we do a machining program...we need a box full of "floppy's" to
run the entire program[exaggeration], but close!
The programs are done at a remote computer on Bobcad v-21, than
"Flopped" to the controller.....there has to be another way....please
help!!!!
PS: We e-mailed Centroid, about an upgrade or whatever....no reply.
Like most of us, in this business, money is an issue...so,whatever is
inexpensive, I would deeply appreciate some HELP!!

Hi, I have a centroid m 400 too, but they dont have a floppy they have a usb port and ethernet and is very easy to translate program from pc to controller, try to speak to centroid for help with this

I just purchased a used cnc router with an old centroid cnc4 stepper controller in it. All of my emails were answered quickly. I spoke to Mario at Centroids tech support and he was able to provide me with a manual to my machine at a very reasonable cost. Manual came in one day and is a decent manual in a binder not a bunch of photocopys stapled together. I don't know what email addy some of the people on this forum is using for Centroid
as I read some complaints about Centroids lack of customer support. I have only a positive experience with them. I found thier addy by Goggleing Centroid and going to thier web site.

Thanks gentlemen for your input. Alot of areas have better Centroid
response, than others....I'm in the "other" area.
We have tried to network from the main computer to a remote in the
toolroom and then thru a RS232 tried to send to the controller, a year
or so ago, no go! A centroid rep., suggested to the individual that was
doing the networking for us, to purchase a new HD....something like
$200.00+.....still no success...
When I first was surfing the web for "Centroid" I came across this GREAT
Forum.....one guy said he "Ghetto" rigged a CD ROM and by passed the
"flopper".....does anyone know how it was done??
