    Reloading control from disk vf1

Long story short i need to reload the Control OS on a 05 vf1.

The tech says that he has to do it but i beleive we have the disk with the system on it.

Anyone know how to flash the system with a new copy?

It is in my class at tech school and i'd much rather see the money that would be spend on the tech be spent on some carbide end mills and other goodies.

    thanx a bunch!

It would be unusual if you have a disc with the OS on it. The disc that comes with the machine and is stored in a pocket inside the control cabinet door, is just the Settings and Parameters and maybe Quick Code and the Intuitive Programming System files.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

I have been told the os has to loaded by a tech. There has to be a command to flash the mother board with the new os. I dread the day my machine goes down and the os needs to reloaded. The thumb drive that came with my new 08 vf3, only has the paramters on it. My spindle has went down for second time, this time I rebuild it my self.

    OS

There are many reasons why the Haas tech needs to load the OS. It isn't straightforward. If parameters are not set correctly then the machine will not function correctly and you are very likkely to cause a lot of damage if these are set wrong. It really isn't worth the risk.
    Hope this helps.
