    Mach3 crashes windows XP

i am currently running the free version of mach 3 for evaluation. so far it has crashed 2 different computers that both are running mach 3. both computers are AMD 64 bit computers with 1 gig of ram each. the computer i have setup to run my lathe is a standard 32 bit intel pentium chip that has 2 gHz. i'm wondering if this is an XP problem or a compatibility problem with the 64 bit computer. i will be buying software as soon as i get this figured out. thanks

First, try it with the special driver. Instructions are in the manual. If that doesn't work, try it with a clean install of XP. If that doesn't work, go through the XP optimisation list.

You may also need to reboot the computer after the initial install of Mach 3. Rebooting cured those problems for me before. The Special Driver located in the Mach 3 folder that Ger mentioned has helped me before as well. You simply double click the file and it loads itself. If that doesn't help anything, simply double click the original driver in the same folder and it will reinstall it.

I'm running mach 3 on an AMD 64bit With XP and it works perfectly so it's likely not a compatibility issue. My problem is getting it to work on an older system. I've tried it with XP and then NT and still rebooting the comp. I'll keep trying and if I can get it going I'll let you know what i did. That's if I know.LOL
