i have drawn some spoked gears ect . is there a tool to make the teeth other then drawing one tooth and then copying it in a circulur pattern. i looked in the tutorial and help by topic but only found gear mating

use your design library's toolbox and pick either the metric or inch folder, then powertrain components, gears and right click the type; hit create part and fill out the fields and "OK" to create it. We use this a lot to create and download the part into our CAM software to machine plastic gears and sprockets.
GearTrax by Camnetics (http://camnetics.com/) is probably what you are looking for.
Their gear making plug-ins for SolidWorks are just amazing.
