Requesting a preorder for four 251 Ghetto Drives

    This is a formal request.

Requesting a preorder for four 251 drives.

    When will MINE be shipping?

    P.S. I should be a contest winner.

    jalessi,

Again, we do not take preorders. We only take orders when we have products to ship.

Also, in an ideal world, everyone would be a contest winner.

Okay, good news. We got the connectors this afternoon, and have been running one of the machines to get some ready. If all goes well, we will be shipping the contest winner's drives tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. The through hole reflow is going very well, and we have about 100 produced right now.

These are going to go to the contest winners and as samples to OEMs, so they will not be for sale.

So when's the contest -- or was I tooooo busy and missed it?
Is there a winners' list posted so we can all be jealous?
Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.

Gecko is currently unable to ship anything if your initials are J.A.
This is due to the trickle down pester clause.

    Jalessi,

We have a list of manufacturers we have been and will be doing business with that we will be sending them to. There is no list to put your name on. If we do not personally call you and tell you we are sending you some, then none will be coming your way. Because of the limited quantity of the drives on hand, this is the way it has to be.

If you are not a contest winner or an OEM I have personally spoken to, then you will not be able to get any of these until we run a full production run. This day will come very soon, but we have to wait on printed circuit boards to do so.

    To many orders?

    Marcus,

Correct me if I did not understand what you just stated.

Gecko is not accepting any orders from new manufacturers?

Not for the OEM drives we are shipping out right now. Everything else we sell you can purchase, but the G250s and G251s are not for sale yet and can not be ordered. I will let you all know when they are for sale, which is dependent upon PCB manufacturing times. We have thousands of boards on the way, so there will definitely be no shortage when they first go on sale.

    In anticipation of good news…

    The moment of truth eludes
    More time for quiet reflection…

And the test of patience too

The hands of destiny controls the tempo…

    I’m helpless in its grip

    Tolerantly the prize I wait…

Remembering so clear the old adage:

    Good things come indeed…

    To those who uncomplainingly wait

    Inventory of self…

    Preparing for the challenge

    One’s on the horizon…

    Soon to be manifest

    Put in order until then…

    Praying for readiness and endurance

    Unwearyingly in gear…

For the new day and a fresh start

    Oh the waiting…
    The hearty experience

    …Is worth relating

Well, I was taught that a Haiku should follow the 7-5-7 rule, not the 8-4-8 rule that yours did.

    Mariss,

Are you assuming the poem is Japanese?

When did you become a literary critic?

Actually anyone that can read and think is a literary critic. I know what I like when I read it. Same token I know what I dislike.

I don't think I needed Mariss's permission to respond. I was responding to you, but not for him. I only stated what to me, was obvious.

The um.......poem was meant in jest. I don't really hope I get mine before you do. You guys just mentioning Haiku made me want to say gesundheit.
