high speed machining vs normal machining

How does high speed machining feature helps in machining. I understand, it concerns with machining at high feedrates and low depth of cut, which overall results in higher MRR. Cann't we do this in normal machining mode?

You "can" but it's also (simply stated) a matter of accuracy and accel/decel control. In a standard G64 mode, it has limitations of this at higher speeds (coupled with a lesser value of Look-Ahead). Many machines won't even allow you to hit the extremely high speeds unless the mode is active.
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....
