    RFQ 6 copies, milled part, 9 copies turned part

    Hi Everyone;

    Today's posting is an RFQ for a small quantity of parts for specialty lens mountings for industrial CCD cameras

    There are two parts, both are aluminum, load is not an issue so alloy is not critical.

    the rough description is...

    Part #1, lens mounting clamp, qty 6

    Milled part, appx 2.5” x 3.52” x .59” thick
    Pocketed one side
    Large 2.200 thru hole
    4 small thru holes, 1 threaded hole

    Part #2, lens flange tube, qty 9 total in 2 different lengths

    Turned part, 2.200 OD x 0.6” (6 ea) or 0.8” (3 ea) long
    Two internal steps in one end
    One small notch in same end
    One external groove near stepped end
    ID not critical (mill finish OK)

    Drawings are attached for both parts.

    Bids should be complete for materials, labor and shipping to Hillsboro, Oregon, 97006.

    Material is any aluminum alloy, but we will be anodized for reflection control so preferably not 6020, which has too much copper to anodize well (at least where we do it).

    Finish is standard clean, degreased shop finish, break all edges, blend toolmarks. These parts are not “appearance parts”, but they should have a reasonable surface finish, bright scotchbrite or similar finish is OK.

    We will be anodizing these parts black. If your shop offers that service and you'd like to include it in your bid, please, by all means do so.

    Delivery is two weeks.

    Payment terms are negotiable, but in general, we can usually turn around a payment in a few days for something like this, and get you paid before you ship.

    Please send any bids or questions direct to me at my work email. Because of some firewall issues on our office systems it's difficult for me to check CNCzone from my desk during the day to see replies left on the site.

    My direct e-mail is...

    Additionally, if you just so happen to be a machine shop in the Portland/Hillsboro Oregon area, by all means, let us know. We're always keeping our eyes out for new vendors.

    Thanks;

    Steve

    Steve,
    In your lens clamp.pdf, the groove or notch shows .250 - .630 gap. Is this a typo? should it be .125 - .163?? It just seems wide for an 8-32 pinch bolt.
    Just a good ol' boy, never meanin' no harm.

    JoBwan;

    You are, of course, correct. It's a typo on my part, it should have read .025 - .063. That's what I get for dimensioning by hand.

    Thanks for spotting that,

    - Steve

    How about some tolerances? Pretty sure the 2.200 diameter on the clamp should
    be on the plus side and the same dimension on the tube should be under, so they fit, right?
