    Suggestion for a CNC router!

I am very lost with my CNC project atm! It is very difficult/expensive to source out parts in Australia!

However, I have all the electronics and stepper motors from HobbyCNC all soldered and tested! So that's a start.

I want to mill wood, aluminium and maybe some copper. It doesn't have to be fast, it can do 0.01mm passes for all I care (but will doing this have it's own issues)?

I've been looking at the http://cgi.ebay.com/WidgitMasters-NE...ayphotohosting

Widgetmaster kits....But they dont seem to be big enough. I want a router that is give or take 400mm by 400mm....but if i have no choice i a widgetmaster kit could do...

    I really dont know!

The approach you take will probably be dictated a lot by the following requirements:

    -Work envelope
    -Speed
-Cutting forces (a function of the tools you use, speed you want to cut at, and materials you want to cut)
    -Accuracy
    -Budget

If you can answer those questions, people will be able to make some better recommendations for you. There's a lot of good resources here on the zone who can help you out!
