    Unhappy New member with a problem.

    Hello I just joined this forum, looks like there's a lot of people willing to lend a hand.
    I recently got a Mazak V7.5 with a mazatrol Cam M2 control. I have tried to communicate with the machine with no avail (DNC drip feed) I looked at the parameters and looks like the machine didnt have the RS232 option installed originaly.

    How difficult would it be to get my hands in a comms board for the controller? Do anybody know the part number so I can try to find it on E-bay?

    Regards
    Vladimir

    M2 comms and drip feed

    the standard RS232 board is an FX17 but you will need to set the jumpers for RS232 or 20mA. That said, from what you have said I think you will need a DNC-A board because the FX17 is purely for upload and download of programs, parameters and saved tool data.

    hope this helps, Phil.

    what are the boards you have in your control?
    if you go to diagnosis screen and take a look in the lower center portion you will see your software versions come up, what are they?

    some more info.

    Hi Kevin
    I just looked at the diagnostics screen and I found the following:

    Version:
    1-1 B01 : C1 1-5 2 100: * 6 ENGC1
    1-2 D01 : C1 1-6 3 200: B
    1-3 D02 : C1 1-7 4 446: N
    1-4 D03 : C1 1-8 5 C00:C1

    The ID plate on the controller says:
    Mitsubishi Type UF701A
    Meldas YM2V
    Date 85 - 03
    Serial 210

    There's some pictures of the controller

    Have you tried Roger Bonet from Shera-Bonet? (www.shera.com.au) He is quite good with Mazak and may be able to help.

    you have all the hardware you need with the fx17, you should have 2 rs232 ports on the machine, one for the cmt and one for the tape. it looks like you just need to set up your parameters.
    can you upload and download to the computer ok?

    Hi Kevin.
    I have tried to download to the machine using both the Tape and the CMT connectors, but it didn't work, I am using Mastercam, and I setup my computer as follows:

    Format = ASCII
    Baud rate = 4800
    Parity = None
    Data bits = 8
    Stop bits = 2
    Handshaking = Software

    the parameters on the mazak are:

    Parameters 3D - EIA - ISO
    T01 = 0
    T02 = 0
    T03 = 0
    T04 = 0

    T07 = 0
    T08 = 0
    T09 = 0

    OP23 = 16
    OP24 = 16

    Y04 = 0 (DNC available/ unavailable) If I change that to 1 the machine spits out error 22 NMI SUM CHECK ERROR.

    if you try to output a program from the machine to the computer does it act like it is sending out ok or does it throw up an error right away?
    does your computer get anything? garbage characters, etc?

    if it attempts to send fromn the machine then I suspect mismatch in the communications settings.
    let me know

    Hi kevin

    tried this morning with the parameters you sent me, still does not work.

    whenever I try to save or load to CMT I get ERROR 448 CMT MALFUNCTION

    If I try to save to computer, the computer just sits there waiting, no garbage or anything.

    If I try to load a file from the computer it start sending the file straight away, no error messages in the computer just in the M2.

    As sugested by Ragman, I called Roger from Shera - Bonet. He will be coming over to have a look at my machine on the 19/02 he seemed confident that he can make it work. I will keep you guys posted.

    Problem solved!!!!

    Today I got a visit from Roger of Shera Bonett, and everything is working, we connected using Griffo Brothers Cam-Link Data transfer.
    Everything works fine, so I put my hand in my pocket and bought the software.

    If anybody in Australia have a problem like mine talk to Roger (www.shera.com.au) (Good service and results)
