    Move machine zero

Hi, ive just got a new milling machine.

    It is a SW ba35 with a SINUMERIK 840 C control.

My problem is that the machine zero is 49,5 mm over the plane, and i want to have the zero directly on the plane.

I havent figured out how to move the machine zero.

Someone can tell me how to do that?

    Martin

I'm not real familear with the 840C control, I have some experience with the 840D. Depending on if the machine has scales, absolute encoders, or normal encoders. You may have to adjust the zero position in the parameter table. You want to go into Machine Data, then look for a soft key for Axis MD. You will need to set the password level to Manufacturer to make this change. For exact instructions, contact Siemens Support in your area.
